Effective October 12, 2026
This policy covers gardenstreetgames.com and the games played on it. The site is run by Garden Street Games, a small game studio in Lake City, Minnesota (“we”, “us”).
- No accounts, no ads, no cookies. Nothing follows you to other sites.
- We never ask for your real name, email, phone number or address.
- We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising or profiling.
- The only things we keep are a nickname and score if you choose to save one, a suggestion if you choose to send one, and daily totals of visits and plays.
What we collect, and why
Leaderboard scores — only if you save one
When a game ends you can type a nickname and save your score. If you do, we store:
- The nickname you type, your score, and details of the run (for example home runs and distance, rounds won, or the difficulty you played) and when you finished. These are public: anyone can see them on the leaderboards. Use a nickname, not your real name.
- A random player number, for games that keep a running total (Flower Town). Your browser makes it up and keeps it, so your total grows instead of adding a new line each time. It isn’t shown to anyone and isn’t linked to who you are.
- A scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address, so one connection can’t flood a board. It is one-way: it can’t be turned back into your address. It’s only needed for an hour, and we erase it after 24 hours.
We may remove a name that is rude or that looks like someone’s personal information.
Suggestions — only if you send one
The suggestions form sends us what it’s about (a game or the site), your message and the time. The message is saved and emailed to the studio as plain text. The form doesn’t ask who you are and refuses links and email addresses, so please don’t write personal details into it. Like scores, it uses a scrambled code from your IP address to stop floods, erased after 24 hours.
Visit and play counts
To know which games people play, the site counts, per day:
- which page was opened, and which game’s Play button was pressed;
- the kind of site that sent you here, as one word such as “instagram”, “google” or “other” — never the full address of the page you came from;
- a short tag in a link we shared, if there was one (for example
?src=instagram).
We keep only the daily totals. To count a visitor once an hour instead of every time they click, a scrambled code made from your IP address, the page and the hour is held briefly and deleted within about two hours. No cookies are used, nothing identifies you, and the counts aren’t shown on the site.
If your browser sends a “Global Privacy Control” or “Do Not Track” signal, the site sends nothing to be counted at all.
What stays in your browser
Some things are saved in your own browser’s storage, on your device. We don’t receive them unless noted:
- the last nickname you used, so you don’t have to type it again;
- the random player number described above (sent along when you save a running-total score);
- whether the site runs in its lighter mode on a slow computer;
- each game’s own settings and progress, such as the player you picked, the difficulty, or what you’ve built in Flower Town.
You can delete all of it by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. The site does not use cookies.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts the site and the small database that holds scores, suggestions and counts, and forwards suggestion emails to us. Like any web host, Cloudflare’s servers see your IP address and basic browser details in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks; it handles that under its own privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). The site and the games load nothing from any other company: no analytics services, no ad networks, no outside fonts.
If you follow our link to Instagram, you’re on Instagram’s site and its policy applies.
We don’t give or sell information to anyone else. We would only disclose it if the law required us to.
Kids
A lot of our players are kids. The site is built so nobody has to give us personal information to play: there are no accounts, and we never ask for a real name or any way to contact you. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only thing a player types that others can see is a leaderboard nickname, which is why we ask for a nickname rather than a name.
Parents: if your child saved a nickname that gives away who they are, or anything else you want removed, ask us (see below) and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep it
- Leaderboard scores stay on the boards until we remove them or you ask us to.
- Suggestions are kept as long as they’re useful to us, or until you ask us to delete one we can find.
- Scrambled IP codes: erased after 24 hours (scores and suggestions) or about two hours (counts).
- Daily visit and play totals are kept; they contain nothing about any one person.
Your choices and rights
- Don’t save a score or send a suggestion, and nothing about you is stored beyond the anonymous daily counts.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, and you aren’t counted either.
- Ask us to remove a leaderboard entry or a suggestion. Tell us the game, the nickname or what the suggestion said, and roughly when.
Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom, California or Minnesota), you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. We’ll honor those requests wherever we can, within 30 days. Because we never collect names or contact details, the only way we can find something of yours is by the nickname, game and time you give us. Where those laws apply, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the site, keeping it safe and knowing which games get played, and on your choice when you save a score or send a suggestion. The site is run from the United States, and that’s where its data is handled.
How to reach us
Send a message through the suggestions form — choose “The website” and start it with “Privacy request” — or message us on Instagram if you need a reply.
Keeping it safe
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. IP addresses are never stored as they are, only as one-way scrambled codes that are erased within a day. The suggestions form refuses links and email addresses, and every form is limited so it can’t be flooded.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
